Hydraulic rotary head and floating spindle
Two mechanical speed ranges combine with stepless speed regulation. The hydraulic head delivers up to 3,500 N·m torque, with a floating spindle and a lateral translation mechanism. The feed system provides 400 kN lifting force and 200 kN feeding force.
Gauges and manual controls at one station
Circular gauges sit above labelled banks of manual levers. Switches, instruments and drilling controls share the side-mounted operating console, with safety labels beside the controls.
DR-500X Core Drilling Rig with hydraulic drive
The DR-500X Core Drilling Rig is a crawler-mounted machine for geological core drilling. A floating spindle and fully hydraulic drive connect the rotary head to the drilling system. Two mechanical speed ranges work with stepless speed regulation, allowing rotary speed to be adjusted within each range. Maximum torque is 3,500 N·m and maximum rotary speed is 1,400 rpm.
Core drilling capacity and feed force
Drill-string capacities are BTW 1,800 m, NTW 1,600 m, HTW 1,200 m and PQ 1,000 m. The drill-head stroke is 3,500 mm, with 400 kN lifting force and 200 kN feeding force. The drilling system uses 3 m drill pipe. These features combine a long feed movement with controlled rotary-head travel along the mast.
Head movement and mast positioning
The power head has a lateral translation mechanism. Hydraulic cylinders raise and lower the mast, and the complete mast assembly has 1,200 mm sliding travel. An articulated hose carrier runs beside the mast to guide the hydraulic lines as the head moves. The head housing, spindle connection and hydraulic hoses remain accessible from the front of the drilling structure.
Wireline winch and hydraulic cooling
The wireline winch has 1,600 m drum capacity, 31 kN lifting force and 110 m/min lifting speed, using an 8 mm rope. The hydraulic system combines air and water cooling. A 154 kW diesel engine supplies power at a rated speed of 2,300 rpm.
Operating station and crawler chassis
The side operating console places circular gauges above labelled manual lever banks. The panel groups the instruments, switches and drilling controls at one station. Steel crawler tracks carry the rig between drilling positions at up to 2 km/h. The chassis climbing angle is 20°, and stabilizer legs with footplates support the frame during setup.
Transport configuration
The mast folds horizontally above the frame for transport. Transport dimensions are 6,100 × 2,200 × 3,050 mm, and machine weight is 10 t. The crawler undercarriage sits below the equipment compartments, with the stabilizer legs positioned at the sides of the frame.
